Description of the Property
Another new and exceptional rental home in our Moosewood Vacation Rentals lineup is the Antlers. Located on 2.5 acres high above the city in the prestigious Upper Hillside area of Anchorage, Antlers is home to several horses and surrounded by wildlife. Antlers is nestled into the hillside, with incredible 180-degree views of Cook Inlet, Sleeping Lady (Mt. Susitna), the Alaska Range, and Mt. McKinley (Denali).
Perfectly located 15 minutes from the airport or downtown Anchorage, Antlers is just one mile from the Prospect Heights trailhead of the Chugach State Park, and less than a five-minute drive from the Flattop Mountain trailheads, Anchorage Golf Course, Alaska Zoo, and Hilltop Ski Area.
Antlers is a spacious three-story home with walls of windows perfect for enjoying the vast Alaskan scenery, wildlife, and long colorful sunsets. As is typical of Alaskan homes, the main living level is on the second floor and is designed for entertaining. The home has a large and well-equipped kitchen with plenty of seating, a half-bath, laundry room, and a large wrap-around deck with BBQ. Antlers has two living rooms, one with a cathedral ceiling and one with a fireplace, each with its own sofa bed.
The first of two master suites, "the Bear's Den," is also located on the main living level. It is a spacious room with a king bed, large closets, and a private bath.
The third level is a large and open loft area with a queen sofa bed and our second master suite, the airy "Bird's Nest." It has a king bed, vaulted ceiling, walk-in closet, reading alcove, and private balcony.
Altogether, the upper two floors of Antlers has over 2600 square feet and can comfortably sleep six to 10 people.
Please Note: If your group requires more space, there are an additional two bedrooms (one with a double and twin and the other with a king) and one bath available on the first floor. This adds 1000 square feet of space and brings the total number of bedrooms to four and total bathrooms to three and 1/2. See rates below or inquire.
Amenities include wireless internet access and a 42-inch flat-screen TV with premium cable. To ensure that your stay is an enjoyable one, a light breakfast of your choice is provided on the first day of your stay at Moosewood, and a complimentary bottle of champagne welcoming you to "The Greatland" is chilled awaiting your arrival. As with our other home, Moosewood, all beds are furnished with Nova foam therapeutic mattresses. If you have never slept on this type of bed before, get ready for the best sleep of your life.

Antlers is one of several horse properties in the Hillside area,and as such, is home to several privately owned horses. The owners live in the first-floor apartment of this home, and are always available to answer questions and offer advice.

Activities and Attractions
Anchorage is a relatively small city, and as such most activities are within a 15-minute range. Especially close-by are: Anchorage Golf Course, Alaska Zoo, Horse-Trekkin Alaska, H2Oasis (water park), Diamond Center Mall, and downtown Anchorage. Easy day-trips from Antlers are: Girdwood, Wittier, Seward, Talkeetna, and Palmer-Wasilla. Flight-seeing tours of Denali and Cook Inlet leave daily from Anchorage, and rail excursions to Whittier for glacier-viewing and halibut and salmon-fishing charters are also easily available. Dog-sledding and snow-mobiling are available year-round. We are happy to assist you with reservations, and activities guides are sent to each guest with reservation confirmations.

Rental Rate Notes
25% deposit is required at time of booking to confirm reservation. Balance is due 30 days prior to date of arrival. *There is NO cleaning fee for stays longer than three nights. All stays less than three nights must add a $100 cleaning fee. PLEASE NOTE: Rates listed are for the entire 4-bedroom, 3 1/2 bath property. Groups of eight or less may rent the upper two floors only. The nightly rate for upper floors only is $500 per night (May 1 to Sept. 30), or $375 per night (Oct. 1 to April 30). Extra discount available for groups smaller than four. 25% deposit required at booking to confirm a reservation.
Cancellations made 60 days or greater prior to date of arrival will receive a full refund, less a $200 cancellation fee. Cancellations made 30-60 days prior will receive a refund (less cancellation fee) if the property is re-booked. Cancellations made less than 30 days in advance will result in a forfeiture of payments received.
